Vitamins, minerals and amino acids directly into the bloodstream

planned and supervised by a doctor

With an infusion, the active substances go directly into the blood through a vein, bypassing the stomach and intestines. This makes them fully available to the body, even when absorption from food or tablets is limited.

Every infusion starts with a consultation with a doctor. Together we decide whether an infusion makes sense for you and which composition is right.

When can an infusion be useful?

with a deficiency confirmed by a blood test, e.g. of iron, vitamin B12 or magnesium

if tablets are poorly tolerated or absorption in the gut is limited

as support during demanding periods or during recovery after an illness

with persistent exhaustion, after other causes have been ruled out by a doctor

How the treatment works

  1. Consultation: We discuss your symptoms, previous illnesses and medication.
  2. Examination and blood tests: If necessary, we check the relevant blood values beforehand.
  3. Infusion plan: You receive a recommendation on the composition, number and frequency of infusions.
  4. Infusion: About 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the composition. You sit or lie comfortably and are looked after by our team.

A water-soluble vitamin involved in immune defence, the formation of connective tissue and the absorption of iron. As an antioxidant it protects cells from oxidative stress. Given intravenously, it reaches higher blood levels than tablets.

The B vitamins (e.g. B1, B2, B6) are involved in energy metabolism and nerve function. Needs may be higher, for example, during demanding periods or with an unbalanced diet.

Important for blood formation and the nervous system. A deficiency can occur, for example, with a plant-based diet, with stomach or bowel conditions or due to certain medicines. We check your level in the lab beforehand.

Iron is part of the red blood pigment and is needed to transport oxygen around the body. An infusion may be an option for an iron deficiency confirmed by blood tests, especially if tablets are not tolerated or not sufficient.

A mineral needed for muscle and nerve function and for many enzymes. A deficiency can show up, for example, as muscle cramps.

A trace element needed by many enzymes, the immune system, the skin and wound healing.

A trace element that is important, among other things, for producing thyroid hormones and as part of the body’s own protective enzymes against oxidative stress.

Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins. The body cannot produce essential amino acids itself, so they must be supplied, e.g. for muscles, enzymes and the immune system.

The most abundant amino acid in the body. Among other things, it serves as an energy source for the cells of the intestinal lining and the immune system. Needs may increase during periods of stress.

Amino acids involved in building collagen, the main protein of connective tissue, skin, bones and joints.

The body’s own antioxidant, found in almost all cells. It is involved in detoxification processes in the liver and in protecting cells from oxidative stress.

Polyunsaturated fatty acids that are part of cell membranes and are important for the heart, blood vessels and brain, among others. An infusion may be an option if dietary intake is not sufficient.

A local anaesthetic that is also given as a low-dose infusion. The scientific evidence for this is limited. We discuss benefits and risks with you beforehand.

Single infusions

All of the active ingredients listed above are also available individually or as an addition to a combination. Prices on request.

Costs

Infusions are generally self-pay services (IGeL). The medical consultation, examination and any blood tests are charged separately according to the German medical fee schedule (GOÄ). You will receive a written cost overview before treatment starts.

Information sheet to read in advance

You are welcome to read and fill in our information and consent form in advance. It will be signed together with us after the consultation in the practice. The form is available in German.

Frequently asked questions

As a rule, no.

That depends on the goal and on your blood values. A series of several infusions one to two weeks apart is often recommended.

Infusions are generally well tolerated. A small bruise may appear at the injection site. Circulatory reactions or intolerances are rare. That is why you remain under the supervision of our team during the infusion.

Caution is needed with certain pre-existing conditions, e.g. of the heart or kidneys, and during pregnancy and breastfeeding. We clarify this in the preliminary consultation.

The benefit is well proven for a confirmed deficiency, e.g. of iron or vitamin B12. For other uses, the scientific evidence is limited. We will give you honest advice on whether an infusion makes sense in your case.
